Guided tours lead guests through the villa’s beautifully preserved rooms, showcasing its refined architecture, exquisite period furnishings, and a rich collection of personal artifacts that tell the story of the Habsburg dynasty. The villa is set within the Kaiserpark, a sprawling and meticulously landscaped park that invites leisurely strolls along its winding paths. Also within the grounds lies the Marmorschlössl, a small marble palace built for Empress Elisabeth.

Gmunden Ceramics Manufacture - Guided Tour & Workshop

The history of Gmundner Ceramics began more than half a millennium ago, in 1492, the year of the discovery of America. At that time, the "Hafnerhaus am Graben", which later became the "Gmundner Keramik Manufaktur" was first mentioned in a document. As early as the 17th century, Gmunden was considered a stronghold of old Austrian fine and ornamental ceramics. Today Gmundner ceramics is synonymous with the finest-quality Austrian tableware. On a guided tour of the manufacture you experience centuries of artisan tradition and the dedication that goes into crafting each piece by hand. After the tour, you can try your hand at painting your own piece of porcelain, which will be shipped to your home once the paint has dried.

Lake Traunsee

Combine your visit to the Gmunden Ceramics Factory with a boat ride on Lake Traunsee. Austria’s deepest lake is picturesquely nestled between meadows, forests, and the imposing Traunstein massif. Enjoy this unique panorama from the water—perhaps on a ride aboard the world’s oldest paddle steamer.
