Zermatt, Matterhorn, & Gornergrat Railway
The enchanting resort town of Zermatt lies at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn, one of the world's most iconic mountains. Zermatt's picturesque old town is a charming mix of century-old barns, chocolate-coloured chalets, and cobblestoned streets. Your guide will show you all the sights and you will gain an insight into Zermatt's history and into the Matterhorn and its first ascent by mountaineers in 1865. You will then visit the top of Zermatt's other famous peak, the Gornergrat. For more than 125 years, a cog railway has been taking guests up to 3100 meters above sea level. The ascent is spectacular, with a constant view of the Matterhorn. At the top, a stunning 360-degree panorama of snow-capped peaks and glaciers as far as the eye can see awaits.
