Day 3 - Zugspitze & Eibsee

Enjoy a trip into nature after a day of exciting experiences in the city. In fair weather, Germany’s highest vantage point at nearly 3,000 metres above sea level offers clear views over 400 peaks in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland – including the highest mountains in the eastern Alps, some of which are more than 4,000 m high. The brand-new Zugspitze cable car will take you in just 9 minutes from the shores of idyllic Lake Eibsee to the famous peak that stradlles the German and Austrian border. The ascent with the Zugspitze cable car offers spectacular views down to the lake, before new horizons open up with a powerful panorama at the Zugspitze Peak. The Zugspitze Glacier at 2,600 metres is then accessed using the glacier lifts, before the rack and pinion railway comfortably transports you through the Zugspitze Tunnel and back to your original starting point.

Day 4 - From Munich to Lindau

Time to say goodbye to Munich and setting off for Lindau, a pittoresque island town nestled on the shores of lovely Lake Constance. During a tour with your personal guide you will learn about this enchanting town's rich history, from its Roman origins to its role as a vibrant trading post in the Middle Ages. Visit the stunning Lindau Harbor, where you can admire the iconic Lindau Lighthouse and the impressive Bavarian Lion statue, both symbols of the town. Take in spectacular views of the Alps and Lake Constance as you stroll along the waterfront. The Lindau Town Hall is one of the most iconic and historic buildings in Lindau, located in the heart of the Old Town. This stunning structure dates back to the 15th century and serves as a remarkable example of medieval architecture. It is known for its impressive façade, adorned with intricate frescoes that depict scenes from the town’s history and local legends.

Day 5 – Lake Constance – Cheese & Wine tasting

Lake Constance borders Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The countries‘ cultural diversity is also reflected in the topograhy and the culinary heritage of this region. On the Austria side of the lake, the green pastures provide the perfect conditions for traditional dairy farming. Here, a variety of high-quality cheeses, especially the Vorarlberger Bergkäse (mountain cheese) is produced. These cheeses are made using time-honored techniques, with milk from cows that graze on lush alpine meadows. During a cheese tasting, you'll have the chance to sample a selection of the varieties which this region is famed for. The tour will continue to the German side of the lake, where the unique climate, with its moderating effect, makes it an ideal location for wine cultivation. The vineyards around Lake Constance produce a variety of wines, especially whites like Burgunder (Pinot), Chardonnay, and Riesling, as well as some excellent reds. At a tradtional winery you will taste a selection of the local wines with their crisp refreshing notes.

Today we continue on to Zurich. Before we reach the vibrant Swiss metropolis, you will make a stop at the fascinating Rhine Falls and visit the charming town of Stein am Rhein. Over 150 meters, several hundred cubic meters of water plunge down to a depth of 23 meters, making the Rhine Falls the largest waterfall in Europe. You can experience the fascination of this natural spectacle up close on a boat trip that takes you as close as possible to the mighty waters of the Rhine Falls. Experience the power of the water in harmony with the impressive landscape. Afterwards, you will stroll through Stein am Rhein, a picturesque medieval town located on the banks of the Rhine River. Day 7 - Zurich

Todays tour through Zurich will give you a good general idea of Zurich in all its aspects. You will see the business and shopping center (famous Bahnhofstrasse) and the old town and then continue to the vantage point Lindenhof. Beneath this elevated square in the city center are the ruins of a Roman customs post, and a late Roman fortress. This spot also offers magnificent views over the old town. Continue to Neumarkt and Spiegelgasse. The Neumarkt (New Market) was just outside the old city wall and the tower at the end of the street was built as a residence for rich nobility. History was written in Spiegelgasse no. 14: it was here where Lenin prepared the Revolution. You will also visit the Grossmünster - the symbol of the city with its distinctive twin towers, and St. Peters - the biggest church clock face in Europe. See the Town Hall, a baroque building dating back to 1694/98. It's interior remains as well preserved as its façade. The tour will end in one of Zurich's oldest districts at the Schipfe, a street of artisans located at the river Limmat.
