Vienna Highlights

Explore the city with your guide and stroll along the 5,3 km long magnificent Ring Boulevard, the „most beautiful boulevard in the world“. Here you will find numerous monumental buildings such as the State Opera House, the City Hall, the University of Vienna and the Museum of Art History and other museums, all built in the second half of the 19th century and true architectural masterpieces. Afterwards, another must-see will complete the tour: You will visit the famous Belvedere Palaces, originally built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy (outside visit), a historic building complex consisting of two Baroque palaces - the Upper and Lower Belvedere -, the Orangery, and the Palace Stables. The gardens of the Belvedere are a highlight of Baroque landscape architecture with decorative tiered fountains and cascades, Baroque sculptures, and majestic wrought iron gates.. A so-called reflection pond was created in front of the palace, in which the palace façade is reflected. Three large terraces with water basins connect the Upper and Lower Belvedere. The museum in the Upper Belvedere houses the world's largest Gustav Klimt collection.

Vienna imperial highlights

Walk in the footsteps of the Habsburg monarchy of yesteryear and immerse yourself in a truly imperial atmosphere. Visit the Hofburg, where you can see the imperial apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Elisabeth (Sisi) as well as the Treasury and the Sissi Museum. The Hofburg complex also houses the Augustiner Church, where the hearts of 54 members of the imperial family are buried. At Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the imperial family, admire the magnificent state rooms and guest rooms and the impressive imperial carriage house with a wealth of imperial vehicles, from the huge imperial carriage to the small children's sleigh. Your tour ends in the Kapuziner Church in the city center, where twelve emperors and 19 empresses and queens are buried. The sarcophagi of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Empress Elisabeth and his son Crown Prince Rudolf can also be found in the crypt.

Spanish Riding School

Enjoy an unforgettable experience: The Spanish Riding School and its world-famous Lipizzan horses offer the highest standard of horse-riding art in the Baroque ambience of the Imperial Palace. Marvel at the precision of movement of the Lippizans in perfect harmony with the music and the inseparable unit of horse and rider – a result of many years of training. The world-famous Lipizzan performances - the “Ballet of the White Stallions” - take place in the magnificent Baroque Winter Riding School in the Hofburg, said to be the most beautiful riding hall in the world. The impetuous young stallions enchant the audience just as much as the already fully trained school stallions, who show themselves in the school quadrille, in the schools on and over the ground, in the pas de deux and on the long reins. You can also visit The Morgenarbeit – the daily morning training – to gain insight into the practice that the riders put in with their Lippizan stallions, from simple relaxation exercises as well as drills to refine and perfect a particular technique. Since December 2015, the horsemanship of the Spanish Riding School has been classified as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
